After a gruelling year and a half for those waiting for their delayed Build-To Order (BTO), the launches for new BTO launches have picked up speed once again. August 2021 BTO projects offers 3 mature estates in the list – a rare find in Singapore, especially in longstanding mature estates like Queenstown. If you are looking for a BTO to settle down with your partner and clueless about the new launches, here’s a quick guide of the upcoming BTOs.


Queenstown

As far as the popular mature estates go, BTOs in Queenstown are a rare find. One of the reasons for the high demand is the well-connected bus routes and established amenities. This launch offers great convenience, and is a mere 10-minutes walking distance from IKEA and other shopping malls in the area including The Anchor point Shopping Centre and Queensway Shopping Centre.

Lastly, recreational centres including Queenstown Swimming Complex and Rumah Tinggi Eco-Park are also nearby. Since the 3-room and 4-room apartments are offered for this launch, the Queenstown BTO plot is suitable for smaller families that hunting for an accessible location.

Kallang / Whampoa

Jurong East

Despite being labelled as a non-mature estate, Jurong East has a diversity of amenities that rival mature estates. There are over 3 shopping malls at the heart of the town, one of the largest libraries in the west side coupled with Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. The proposed BTO is a mere bus stop away from the heart of the town, where all the aforementioned amenities are offered. Nearer to home, there is also a neighbourhood park right across the road from the BTO, which provides a splash of greenery in Singapore’s concrete jungle.

To make the deal sweeter, there is a well-connected public transport system that can bring you to any corner of Singapore. Aside from Jurong East MRT is linked to the North South Line and East West Line, the bus interchange is also nearby. Plus, the upcoming Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) will offer even greater convenience in the near future. The BTO is only minutes away from the flurry of activity at Jurong East MRT, and is likely to become even more accessible with the opening of Jurong Regional Line which is expected to be ready by 2027.

Jurong East is full of potential, given the number of future developments planned for the area. One of the main highlights of the west region is the upcoming Jurong Innovation District, and Jurong Lake District – both of which are relatively near to the BTO plot. If you don’t mind the label of non-mature estate, Jurong East is definitely one of the most promising estates to bid for.

Hougang

A key highlight of Hougang’s BTO is its central location. The BTO plot is situated next to Kovan MRT station and is easily accessible to the city centre as Kovan MRT is simply 20 minutes away from Dhoby Ghaut MRT. In addition, the variety of amenities includes a proposed Community Club at the same block, and educational institutions such as Xinghua Primary School and Yuying Secondary School.

With 4-Room and 5-Room flats available, this Hougang BTO launch is highly anticipated by larger families looking for a HDB flat in a semi-central location. Additionally, the plot is right next to the a Hougang Park Connector, which is connected to Serangoon Reservoir for those craving for a spot of nature. While further from the MRT stations, the BTO plot is walkable distance from the Bartley and Kovan MRT stations which are relatively near city centre. Despite further from the amenities offered at the heart of the town and next to bus deports, there are upcoming amenities to add to the mix including a proposed medical centre across the road. Hence, this BTO plot is a good alternative for larger families.

Tampines

Last but not least, the array of amenities coupled with the waterfront views offered by the Tampines BTO plot makes this location the most popular location in the August BTO list. Not only is there a choice between smaller and larger apartments, the BTO will also be mere minutes away from Tampines West MRT Station. With the city centre within a 20 minutes train ride away and a range of green spaces to choose from, the 1,600 units is expected to sell like hotcakes.

While the second plot is further from the MRT station, this plot has more apartments suitable for larger families. Additionally, the proposed BTO offers plenty of recreational activities on the weekend, since the Tampines Park Connector will be right at your doorstop, linking you to Bedok Reservoir and Bedok Canal.
