Russell began his career as a Tax Manager at a Big Four firm, advising financial services clients including banks, fund managers, and investment funds. Driven by a personal interest in automation and technology, he became the firm’s go-to cryptocurrency and blockchain tax specialist, and was subsequently headhunted to lead the crypto treasury function at a fintech company. He later co-founded a tax technology company as Chief Product Officer, where he developed proprietary software that reduced tax preparation time from hours to just 6 minutes.

Russell enjoys thoroughly understanding new things, and tends to take each interest further than most people would. Past deep-dives have earned him certifications as an AntiGravity Aerial Yoga and Les Mills BodyPump instructor, and as a WSQ-certified barista who still pulls his own espresso shots. His current deep-dive is exploring AI tools and learning how to develop better automation.
